pantone's juicy color of the year

Posted by

This lovely color: a tangerine-tomato hybrid (with an orange highlighter thrown in for pizazz) has the potential to overwhelm a tiny frame-  but used sparingly with more muted tones, it becomes positively delicious! Just picture your little one, bronzed shouldered and bare-footed, running down the beach in a sand colored dress, bursts of juicy color accenting her flushed cheeks... Pure summer sweetness (although this color will likely follow us into fall as well). Check out designmom today to see a pantone color book for children! So adorable for the design enthusiast to be.

pretty things: kitchen inspiration

We put the plans for our new house on hold for the past year, but I am cautiously optimistic that they are back on track... In light of that great news, here is my kitchen inspiration board. I made it last year and I still love it (I guess that's a good sign)...

child style: cienta shoes

Made in Spain, Cienta Shoes are as tough as they are lovely. The bright & happy colors, classic styles and comfortable fits make them a perfect match for the summer sorbet collection... Hint: there's a good chance you'll be seeing these again in the Sorbet lookbook...

life in the pack: mardi gras

The culture in Louisiana is so incredibly unique- and nothing makes that more obvious than Mardi Gras! This year (and the past 7 years), we celebrated family style (aka: minus the booze and binges) and opted for a G-rated party that our kids could enjoy. Here are the highlights: [caption id="attachment_173" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="All hail the Queen of Mardi Gras!"][/caption] [caption id="attachment_174" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Sweet big brother helps Alice at her very first Mardi Gras parade"][/caption] [caption id="attachment_176" align="alignnone" width="300" caption=""Throw me something, mister!""][/caption] [caption id="attachment_175" align="alignnone" width="300" caption=""Somebody, throw me something, Mister?""][/caption] [caption id="attachment_177" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="All in a day's work..."][/caption] Eventually, they threw him some beads- and then he fell asleep in the middle of the party... Always the sign of a good time. XOXO, Sarah
