The Pack Place — pretty things

disney princesses- all grown up

Posted by Aeolidia

Wow. I spotted these on yahoo the other day, but I didn't have time to check it out. When I finally did, Lily, my seven year old, was with me and completely blown away. She had the best time naming each princess as I scrolled through the pictures. The artist, Jirka Vinse Jonatan Väätäinen (pronounced Yirka), has taken our most beloved Disney princesses and made them more human. Neat! My inner child (and secret desire to be a Disney princess) has been awakened... Check out the rest on his blog, here. Who are your favorites?

life in the pack: under the big top

Posted by Aeolidia

I rarely get a chance to spend one-on-one time with my kids, so when one of them has a school event that is "no siblings allowed", I actually appreciate it... and I know they love it, too. Something about my undivided attention makes them glow. Today, Jack had an "Under the Big Top" celebration and the school really went the extra mile to make the students feel special. Years from now, I imagine their mental images will look something like this: Have a wonderful weekend!! XOXO, Sarah P.S. If you have an iPhone and you haven't already downloaded Instagram, you really should! I took all of the photos above with my iPhone and very easily enhanced them with Instagram. I hardly ever pull out my super-duper-heavy-duty-SLR anymore. For everyday moments, my cell is so much more convenient!

inspiration: daydream believer...

[caption id="attachment_260" align="alignright" width="300" caption="Purchase this image ("looking for love") here."][/caption] Close your eyes. What do you see? My daydreams are filled with foreign places-- real and imagined-- hazy sunsets, sheer curtains caught in a breeze, twinkling lights and mossy oaks... The fairies mingle freely with children who dance and sing around a ribboned May pole... unicorns run wild with stallions down a blinding beach... Ahhhh... The W.D. Wolf daydream line is light, soft and subtly sweet. Fine cotton, bits of lace, chiffon and fabric ribbons evoke a magical feeling your wee ones can carry with them. How do you like the labels created for the daydream line? And what about the images below? Eye Poetry Photography has so many amazing pictures I couldn't decide which to post. 8x10's are $30. I'd love a series framed in a row.

inspiration: picnic

Oh, how I love a picnic! And few things are as American as a casual meal in the great outdoors. The W.D. Wolf picnic line was inspired by beachside BBQs, fireflies in a jar, gingham tablecloths, embroidered blankets and American flags... We've taken your very favorite childhood memories and turned them into clothes- traditional ideas updated for modern times with subtle embroidery and timeless fabrics. Last year, Eat Drink Chic created this printable picnic invitation (left) that screams spring and summer to me. Head over there, print it out and invite your loved ones to eat and play with you! A picnic doesn't require a special holiday or a lot of planning- so get out there and start making new memories with your little ones. What do you think of our labels? These were specifically made for W.D. Wolf picnic & will help differentiate the line from the daydream collection...  Samples are in production, so pictures are coming soon... And while you're dreaming of picnics, check out this suitcase transformation via funkytime... And this amazing picnic tote we discovered in House Beautiful April 2012 (and then re-discovered here).

The three pretty images above are but a fraction of the color inspiration I find daily on pinterest. Isn't it nice to look at pretty things? They're a feast for the eyes even if we'll never be able to make, buy or eat them ourselves! For a few minutes, these images belong to us, making our own world a little brighter & more delicious for a sweet moment in time.
